Early last week the Transition Team met to discuss and work on each of the 7 Strategic Priorities in the plan.  The budget was a major focus. They looked at what and where potential cuts could be made, as well as areas Toledo could capitalize and benefit from financially.  Each team hit the ground running and currently, are looking at a wide range of data.  The data includes, historical analysis, SWOT analysis, and evidence based research.  Each team is continuing to collect more data and involve more people.  A summary of the work they are doing can be found at www.thefutureoftoledo.org.

During the meeting, Mayor Bell stressed the importance and need for collaboration and unity among the Mayor’s office, City Council, and Community Leaders.  Progress is already being shown among the Mayor’s Office and City Council, when President of the City Council, Wilma Brown spoke about how City Council is on board and ready to work together with the Mayor’s Office and other Community Leaders to make Toledo once again, a vibrant and thriving community destination.
